Date Night Ideas for Gamers

So you have found a special someone that enjoys video games as much as you do? Congratulations! No seriously, the hard part is over … or is it? Now you have to come up with things you two can do together! I mean you could do the standard dinner and movie and that would probably work out just fine. But odds are you are both gamers, or else you would not being reading this. So here are some great Date Night Ideas for Gamers. Just don't get too wrapped up in the games and forget to pay attention to your date, play together!

Do you both have phones? I know silly question these days but if so why not go for a walk in your local park or city and play Pokemon Go together. You can catch them all together, talk about your favorite Pokemon and share in the adventure of collecting, all while breaking the ice and getting to know each other better. It can be a great deal of fun just along as you you don't run into a lamp post while staring at your phone, or theirs. (That might have really happened...)

Maybe the weather isn’t ideal to be out in. Well, don’t cancel that date, perhaps instead try some old fashion console co-op games? Good chance one of you has a console whether it be a NES or SNES classic or maybe a current generation Nintendo, PlayStation or XBOX? Break out the snacks or cook (Why Gamers Should Cook IRL) and start working together on one of the many hundreds of co-op titles. Some of my fiancé and I favorite co-op games are Overcooked, Rayman Legends, Donkey Kong Country, and Super Mario. Overcooked being one of my personal favorites go look it up, you won't regret it.

Perhaps would rather not be in the house or walking through the elements. There is a compromise, go check out your local arcade bar. Two examples in my area would be Dave and Busters and 16 Bit Bar. These are great spots for grabbing a drink if you're old enough, and having a ton of fun playing video games together!

Or maybe your not a fan of the bar scene? You better get those dinner reservations ready then! A lot of restaurants do actually have something at them like game tablets at the tables or the worst case there are tons of mobile games you can play together to pass any awkward moments while waiting for food. You can even challenge one another see who can clear the most bosses in Hearthstone's new single-player mode. For more information on that check out my blog here: Hearthstone Dungeon Runs = I'm Back!

I hope these Date Night Ideas inspired you to go try them out or maybe spawned another great idea for something local. Have fun gaming together and getting to know one another!

But if for whatever reason it doesn’t work out maybe we can help find your next date with our article on Finding Love as a Gamer.
